What Is The Oasis Hybrid Home?
Video - Part 1

Dear Subscribers,

After a very busy summer, I am so very excited to finally have figured out how to use my new film camera! As a result I am offering, for your viewing, a Power Point presentation of the Oasis Hybrid Home, given by me to a private group of interested people in Seattle. This event occurred in March of this year and was filmed by my thirteen year old daughter!

Over the course of the next few months, I will send you about five to ten minutes of that presentation in the sequence it was presented. Please enjoy and fire off the questions! I will do my best to answer them!

Sincere greetings,
Pouwel

Personal Experience From the Oasis

Here follows a most important documented experience of how it feels to live in an Oasis Hybrid Home. The words of the lady of the house! She has spent the most time living in the home and she knows! Next month we will copy you on the children's experiences and some of the impressions of people that have toured the house.

For today, enjoy this poetic work,
                        Pouwel

Odd Oasis Ode

Reflections of an Oasis Hybrid Home Dweller

Countless are the noticeable and subtle gifts from this year long
Green living experience in the Oasis Hybrid Home

Finding the nurturing embrace of the surrounding lush atrium irresistibleI daily dip gratefully and graciously in its warmth and light
to nourish my heart, soul and mind.

Whether it is for a blissful snack on-the-spot cherry tomato-cucumber-basil extravaganza,
the collecting of a variety of greens for our daily green drink
or just to sit in and soak up the warming rays
melting away the winter blues,
I delight in
this creative playfulness between man and nature
this figure eight flow dance
  of energy exchange
within  life’s  perpetual gift range.

Imagine…
Early spring sowing,
while
ignoring winter snowing.
Oh.. the abundant surprises,
the joyful opportunities
of
an indoor garden.

This early spring when our over wintering Nasturtium had grown into a Christmas tree, daily spitting out new fiery orange flames of gorgeous sweet smelling flowers
I discovered tiny little green fellows enjoying the plant as well.
To add to all the animated fun I ordered 2000 colorful ladybugs to join the feeding frenzy transforming the atrium into a vivacious zoo.
Within days the aphids were consumed and our army of ladybugs dispersed keeping a bugging eye on invaders in atrium and garden
all summer long.

To Recycle or not to Recycle…..

In our family Oasis the gentle falling drops from heaven
are thrice blessed.
They bless us once with rainwater collected for consumption
and cleaning
They bless us twice with the recycled rainwater for watering the
atrium’s garden.
They bless us thrice with the collected atrium drain water for
flushing waste.
With an extra added bonus blessing of
Ending the Waste Cycle!

Energy Efficient Eating Exploration
Yearlong bountiful barbeques on the hearth’s fire
Celebrating family’s warmth will never tire
At the center of the Home radiating as the Sun
Renewable Living has now begun.

Oasis Hybrid Home Is For Sale

The first and famous Oasis Hybrid Home, which has drawn a widespread attention through newspaper and magazine articles as well as TV broadcastings, is now for sale. The architect and builder of that first Oasis Hybrid Home, Pouwel Gelderloos has personally, with his family, worked and lived in the home for two years. All systems have proven to be performing reliably and superbly.

Because of its new and revolutionary design, Pouwel is giving a five year warranty period on the house. (That is five times the norm in the industry!!!) Additionally, the new owners of the house will have hot line access to Pouwel's resourceful brain for consultation and education over the same period of five years. All systems in the house have detailed drawings on how they are put together and also come with operation/maintenance manuals.

The sale of this home will facilitate the building of a second one and clean up our atmosphere, 1,300 tons of carbon emission if the house survived for 100 years. (The average American household creates 13 tons of carbon emission a year to heat and light the home.
